How do I get reimbursed for personal funds I have used to buy educational materials/services using the allotment based program?
Mat-Su Central School provides a reimbursement process for students enrolled in the allotment based program. When a family purchases materials or services to support the child’s learning plan, these expenditures can be reimbursed out of the educational allotment that is provided for each child. The learning plan and reimbursements must ensure that proficiency in state standards in the core academic areas is attempted and achieved. The parent completes a reimbursement form for each student and attaches receipts for expenditures. This form is then turned in at Mat-Su Central School for processing and a check is mailed to the parent from the MSBSD Accounting Department.
Can my child play sports and be part of the activities programs at the schools in the district?
Yes. Mat-Su Central School is a district school and as such, students are eligible to participate in activities at our other schools. Students will need to follow the eligibility rules like other students enrolled in the district.
How do I get involved in district-wide sports?
MSC does not have its own sports program, however, as students are enrolled in the Mat-Su Borough School District, they have the right to participate in sports with a local school of their choice. Below is what you need to know in order to navigate this arrangement.
1. Middle School: Once enrolled with MSC, contact your school of choice for sports and enroll in sport with that school. They will supply required paperwork and other requirements. Students must stay with chosen school all year, and must meet that school's academic eligibility requirements through MSC.
2. High School: As above with following exceptions - students must meet ASAA eligibility requirements before practicing.
All students will need to have an up-to-date physical on file to participate.
See your advisory teacher for more assistance in navigating this whenever you need it.
How often do we need to meet with teachers?
