Special Education Support Services
There are support services available for students who may need help. If your student has an active Individual Education Plan (IEP) with the Mat-Su district, you have a couple of service options.First, you may elect to receive special education services offered at your Boundary School. For students with specialized services on their IEP (i.e. speech therapy, Occupational Therapy, Counseling, Adaptive PE, etc.), this is often the only option to access those services. A choice to attend the boundary school allows trained professionals to work with your child. Once a mutually agreeable schedule is set, you are responsible for transporting your student for services.Second, you may choose to have your child's IEP managed by the special education teacher at Mat-Su Central School. This option gives you more responsibility and flexibility for helping with IEP management. With this option, you will be meeting with the school personnel for consultation a minimum of once a month.
